PD1700 - 2 X 20M ROLLS
JUTA
PD1700 features a high compressive strength Cuspate High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) drainage core with a geotextile filter bonded to one side. Protection Drainage (PD) 1700 is engineered as a high-flow medium to reduce hydrostatic pressure on below-ground structures and offer protection to the underlying membrane (gas/waterproofing).
Benefits:
- Engineered for ultimate strength and performance, ensuring exceptional flow capabilities.
- Adheres to the most recent standards of practice outlined by BS, BRE, and CIRIA.
- Rigorously tested and validated by accredited UKAS bodies.
Applications:
PD1700 is primarily utilised for external tanking applications, creating a high compressive strength void that offers a path of least resistance for water, thereby facilitating controlled drainage into outlets or connector pipes. When combined with GP gas/waterproofing barriers, PD1700 ensures both protection and drainage, preserving the integrity of the gas/waterproofing barrier and ensuring the system functions as intended.
Installation: PD1700 should be positioned with the geotextile facing the soil/backfill and in alignment with the direction of water flow. Rolls can be customised to fit on-site. To secure PD1700 before backfilling, DS Butyl tape (50mm wide) can be used, or it can be mechanically fixed if there is no gas/waterproofing barrier. Adjacent rolls can be overlapped using the geotextile and secured with DS Butyl tape (50mm). Roll ends can be connected by simply aligning the cuspate sheets together. Connection to land drains or collection pipes is achieved by placing PD1700 within the slotted areas or by removing the cuspated core and wrapping the geotextile around the pipe. Care must be taken not to damage or cut the geotextile during core removal for connection. Backfilling should be carried out cautiously to prevent excessive stress on PD1700. Compaction efforts should be avoided within the first 100mm of PD1700.
Handling & Storage Instructions:
Rolls may weigh up to 35kg, therefore suitable equipment is necessary for unloading and handling. PD1700 is packaged to safeguard it from damage during handling and storage, as well as deterioration caused by UV exposure. The product should remain in its packaging until needed for installation, and once installed, it should be covered within 2 weeks.
